FAQs

1. How can I become a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis?
To qualify for citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis under its Citizenship-by-Investment Program, the Government requires either an investment in designated real estate with a value of at least US$ 350,000 plus payment of various registration and other fees, or a contribution to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF-a public charity) to the amount of between US$ 200,000 and US$ 400,000, depending on the number of dependants included in the application.

 

2. How do I begin the application process?
Applications for citizenship can be handled by an authorized local service provider such as Caribbean Governance Consultants Inc.

 

3. What is the cost of this process?
The fees are calculated based on the case particulars, number of persons included in the application, and which investment choice is made, i.e. whether Real Estate or SIDF option.

 

4. Can citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis be dual citizens?
Yes. Citizens of St. Kitts & Nevis are allowed to hold dual citizenship, and the acquisition of citizenship is not reported to other countries.

 

5. Can citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis be issued two passports (or what is called ‘multiple passports’)?
St. Kitts and Nevis does not issue multiple passports.

 

6. In case of a child adoption after granting of SKN citizenship to main applicant, could that child apply for citizenship by descent and hence, would not have to make any more investments?
The adopted child will not be able to apply for citizenship by descent.

 

7. Can a child that is born after the parents acquire citizenship receive citizenship also?
Yes that child would be granted citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis via
Citizenship by descent.

 

8. Does the Citizenship-by-Investment program accept common law union (living together and unmarried)?
No; the Citizenship-by-Investment program does not recognize common law unions.

 

9. How do I renew my passport while living overseas?
There are two options:
i. You may visit_one_of_our_embassies_listed_here to renew your St. Kitts and Nevis Passport.
ii. CGC Inc. may also apply for the passport on your behalf.

 

10. What can be done to reacquire a misplaced certificate of registration and the corresponding passport?
In the event that both documents are lost (passport and cert. of registration) the applicant would have to submit a letter to the Ministry of National Security indicating such. The Certificate of Registration is not normally replaced. What National Security does is issue a letter indicating that the individual is a citizen of St Kitts & Nevis and was issued a certificate of registration which is lost etc. with the necessary particulars. The passport would be replaced with the letter along with the receipt of necessary documents that are needed to renew a passport

 

11. Does someone holding a UAE passport require a visa to enter St. Kitts?
Yes. Please find the list of countries that require a visa to travel to St. Kitts under the Resource Section.

 

12. How can a Russian Federation passport holder get a visa to St Kitts?
The applicant can apply on line using the following web address https://evisa.gov.kn/evisa-prod/. Alternatively, the applicant can utilize the services of CGC Inc. and we would assist the applicant in applying for the visa.

 

13. Can a child under the age of five (5) be exempt from an HIV test if both parents test negative?
Yes. The child would not be required to take the HIV test if both biological parents test negative.

 

14. What are some of the benefits of being a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis?
a. As a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis you are allowed visa-free travel to more than 80 countries worldwide, including all of the European Union.
b. You can also reside in St. Kitts and Nevis for any length of time.
c. As a citizen, you are not liable for personal income taxes, even if you decide to reside in St. Kitts & Nevis.
